Marine & Aviation — specialty for hulls, cargo, aircraft
Marine and aviation specialty lines: hulls and shipowners' liability, cargo in transit, aircraft hull, aviation liability and airport. Typically under Lloyd's binders, bilingual MRC, ACORD BDX.
Marine & Aviation: specialty supported via configuration
Marine and Aviation are specialty lines supported on the platform in a Lloyd's coverholder context, not a historical core domain of NewPicass 14.Net. Clients operating in these lines are typically multi-line companies or Italian coverholders issuing under Lloyd's binders: cargo in transit, hull, aircraft hull and aviation/airport TPL can be configured leveraging the flexibility of policy templates, bilingual contract handling, and the BDX management module for reporting to reinsurers. The platform shines in three specific points for these lines: (1) native BDX management compliant with ACORD schema, essential for the relationship with Lloyd's and syndicates; (2) AI-assisted translation for managing MRCs and bilingual Italian/English certificates; (3) fronting workflow for international programmes with foreign reinsurers not licensed in Italy. For pure marine/aviation portfolios with very high volumes we recommend a dedicated PoC.

Frequently asked questions on marine & aviation
Do you have native Marine & Aviation verticality like for surety?
No, and we're transparent about it: marine and aviation are specialty lines supported via configuration, not a historical core domain. The platform is sized and typically supports these lines in a Lloyd's coverholder context for clients already operating in surety: cargo in transit, hull, aircraft hull, shipowners' TPL, aviation and airport liability can be configured leveraging the flexibility of policy templates and the BDX module. For pure marine/aviation portfolios with high volumes we recommend a dedicated PoC to assess fit.
How are bilingual Lloyd's MRC (Market Reform Contract) handled?
For Italian coverholders issuing under Lloyd's binders, the issued certificate must match the terms of the MRC negotiated in London. NewPicass 14.Net handles: bilingual MRC templates (Italian + English, with the legal text typically prevailing in English), MRC fields → local certificate mapping, validation against slip clauses, document issuance for the insured and for Lloyd's. The AI translation module assists in generating consistent bilingual versions.
Is ACORD BDX generation supported?
Yes, it's one of the platform's strengths for specialty too: the BDX management module produces ACORD-standard bordereaux (premium BDX, claims BDX) for Lloyd's reinsurers, syndicates and fronting. ACORD-schema compliance, reference validation, period aggregation (monthly/quarterly), exception report for anomalies, digital sign-off of the bordereau.
Do you handle shipowners' liability and P&I Clubs?
Shipowners' liability is typically not insured by traditional companies but by mutual P&I Clubs (Gard, North, Britannia, Skuld, etc.). If you are a company operating in marine hull or cargo, the platform supports these lines via configuration. Shipowners' liability and specific P&I Club aspects are not in our native perimeter: we coordinate with your P&I broker for documentary flow but the risk is not handled directly by the platform.
What does cargo all-risks mean and when is it used?
Cargo all-risks is the broadest cover for goods in transit: covers all accidental damage to the goods from origin to destination (Institute Cargo Clauses A or German DTV). Standard exclusions: inherent vice, delay, wilful misconduct, war and strikes (covered separately). Used for valuable or accident-sensitive cargo, typically valued as "commercial value + 10% margin + freight". NewPicass handles ICC A/B/C, war & strikes, open-cover policies for regular exporters.
Can fronting for foreign reinsurers be handled?
Yes. Fronting (Italian insurer issuing on behalf of a foreign reinsurer not licensed in Italy) is common practice in specialty. The platform handles: local issuance compliant with Italian regulation, 100% (or near) cession to the foreign fronter, technical-accounts management, document generation for IVASS, authorisation-responsibility management. Typical for global programmes of large industrial groups insured in London but with Italian exposures.
